Our Practice
Since 1986, IC Optics has been providing customized eyewear to our patients. Kim Neely, owner and one of the Licensed Opticians on staff, has been practicing in Putnam since 1981 and has built his business around researching optical products to meet the visual demands of our patients. Our goal is to help our patients with the best fitting eyewear designed to meet their optical and lifestyle needs.

Kim Neely
Owner | Licensed Optician
Kim has been a Licensed Optician since 1980. Starting his career as an apprentice for Harvey & Lewis in Hartford, CT. Kim’s father, George Neely, L.O., introduced him to the profession in December 1975. Father and son would work together at Harvey & Lewis for 6 years when in 1981, Kim opened Opti-Style, an independent retail optical shop, in Putnam CT. In 1986, he was recruited to run IC Optics by then owner Dr. Curran. Kim’s quality craftsmanship and products knowledge made IC Optics flourish and after years of managing, Kim purchased the business, and he has continued to provide top-quality eyewear for all his patients.
Tricia Turbert
Licensed Optician
Tricia was introduced to the world of optics by Kim’s daughter, a third generation Optician. She began her career as an optical apprentice in 2013 while she studied opticianry at Middlesex Community College. While in school she received her ABO and NCLE certification in 2014 – becoming a Licensed Optician in 2015. Tricia lives in Thompson, CT with her family. Most of her time now is spent with her two young daughters, Adelynn and Brielle.
